Christian Bethancourt is day-to-day with a bruised thumb, which he suffered making a tag in the ninth inning Sunday against the Phillies. His replacement A.J. Pierzynski, who drove in the game-winning run on Sunday, entered the Mets series batting .316 (61-for-193) since July 1, second-best among qualifying catchers (minimum 180 at-bats.)
