Where: Nationals Park, Washington

When: 7:05 p.m.

TV; radio: SPSO; 680, 93.7, 106.7

Probable starting pitchers: Braves LH Alex Wood (4-4, 3.40 ERA) vs. TBD

What's new: The Braves are fortunate not to face Max Scherzer in this series, just like they didn't in the first two series against the Nationals this season, as he is two days removed from coming a strike away from a perfect game and had to settle for a no-hitter. They could face Stephen Strasburg, though, in his return from a DL stint for a back muscle injury. Andrelton Simmons for one, was sorry to leave the Mets behind. Simmons went 7-for-11 over the weekend series in Atlanta and is hitting .465 (20-for-43) with five doubles against the Mets this season. As for the Nationals? Freddie Freeman is batting a team-high .520 (13-for-25) with five doubles against the Nationals this season but he is still a question mark with a sore right wrist. He has missed the past four games and was headed for further medical evaluation on Monday.
