5 things to know about the Braves today

Julio Teheran starts for the Atlanta Braves as they continue their fourth, three-city road trip of the season in Anaheim, Calif., on Memorial Day.

Braves right-hander Julio Teheran (3-4, 4.88 ERA, 42 Ks) makes his first career appearance against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday in the opener of a three-game series in Anaheim. Teheran has only one win since April 26 but has not allowed an earned run in two of his previous three starts.

The Braves have not hit a home run in five straight games, which is their longest homerless drought this season. Through 48 games last season, the Braves hit 21 home runs. This year they have 47 home runs through 48 games. Their 214 runs scored so far is outpacing last season's total.

The Braves started their fourth, three-city road trip of the season in San Francisco Friday and went 1-2. They will play three games in Anaheim before finishing off the week in Cincinnati - second baseman Brandon Phillips' former team. The Braves are 11-15 on the road this season.

Braves outfielder Matt Kemp went 3-for-4 Sunday in San Francisco and has now hit safely in 22 of 25 games this month. He is hitting .344 this season, fourth best in the NL.

Ender Inciarte's double in the fifth inning in San Francisco Sunday was his 36th hit this month, the most by a Braves player in May since Freddie Freeman had 36 in 2013. The team record in Atlanta for hits in May is 47, held by Ralph Garr (1974).
