As noted when the Braves announced their opening-day roster, Julio Teheran will make his second start of the season before the team’s No. 4 and No. 5 starters make their first.

Teheran, who pitched six strong innings for no decision in the Braves’ 10-inning loss to the Nationals in Monday’s season opener, will start Saturday against the Cardinals in the second game of a three-game home series and the fourth game of the Braves’ season.

Matt Wisler starts for the Braves in Friday’s series opener against Cardinals left-hander Jaime Garcia, with Teheran to face Carlos Martinez and the Braves’ Williams Perez starting Sunday’s series finale against Adam Wainwright.

Because of two off days in the schedule Tuesday and Thursday, Teheran will be on regular rest when he makes his second start, before No. 4 starter Perez makes his first.

Braves No. 2 starter Bud Norris, who pitchedd well in season debut Wednesday against the Nationals, will make his second start Monday in a road-series opener against the Nationals in Washington.

The Braves plan to bring up No. 5 starter Jhoulys Chacin from Triple-A to make his first start Tuesday at Washington, at which point they’ll make a move to reduce the bullpen by one after carrying an extra (eighth) reliever in the first week.
