Spring Training: Braves top Mets 9-5, March 3, 2010.

Braves starter Tim Hudson took the mound March 3 against the Mets, allowing one hit while throwing just 15 pitches (10 strikes) in two innings of work.

Right field prospect Jason Heyward had a big day at the plate. The McDonough, Ga., native had a line-drive RBI double and a walk in three plate appearances.

Braves shortstop Yunel Escobar throws to first base for a double play after forcing out New York's Josh Thole (30) at second during the sixth inning.

Braves manager Bobby Cox is pleased with the progress he sees from this spring's young phenom, Jason Heyward, saying, "No holding back. He's been pretty impressive."

Mets center fielder Angel Pagan catches a ball hit by Atlanta's Brent Clevlen for an out to end the fifth inning. The Braves hammered New York 9-5 in the second spring game between the teams.

In right field, Heyward also had a good start Wednesday, making three catches, including a diving play after a spike stuck in the grass.

Braves second baseman Martin Prado forces out the Mets' Fernando Martinez (26) at second while turning a double play to end the second inning.

New York sent pitcher Pat Misch to the mound as its starter.
