NEXT: VS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Friday
Time: 7:35 p.m.
TV: FSSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Williams Perez (5-6, 5.36 ERA) vs. LH Adam Morgan (5-6, 4.60)
Comment: Between the six starters for the Braves and Phillies this series, they have a total of 146 major league starts combined. If you subtract Julio Teheran's 97, that leaves the other five pitchers combined for 49. Perez is the next "most experienced" with 17 major league starts. Morgan, a graduate of Kell High School in Marietta, will be making his 15th on Friday and third already against the Braves. He gave up just two runs in seven innings but took the loss 2-1 on July 3 at Turner Field. He gave up four runs in five innings of a 6-2 loss to the Braves on Aug. 2 in Philadelphia.
Saturday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: FSSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Ryan Weber (0-1, 4.38) vs. RH Jerad Eickhoff (1-3, 3.90)
Comment: Weber is making his third major league start and Eickhoff his sixth. Weber did quality work in his major league debut at Citizens Bank Park on Sept. 8, holding the Phillies to two runs in six innings but got no run support in a 5-0 loss. This is the Braves' first look at Eickhoff, who is one of the six Rangers prospects the Phillies acquired July 31 in the Cole Hamels deal. He has four quality starts in his first five major league outings with the Phillies, including his seven innings Saturday against the Cubs when he allowed just one run.
Sunday
Time: 1:35 p.m.
TV: FSSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Julio Teheran (10-7, 4.34) vs. RH Aaron Nola (6-2, 4.11)
Comment: Teheran is a perfect 3-0 in three starts against the Phillies this season with just a 1.29 ERA in that time, allowing just three earned runs in 21 innings, walking five and striking out 15. For his career, Teheran is 6-3 with a 2.43 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) against the Phillies. Nola, the Phillies' first-round pick in last year's draft out of LSU, has pitched well this season but not necessarily in September. He's given up six earned runs in two of this past three outings, including Monday against the Nationals.
