NEXT: AT MILWAUKEE BREWERS
Monday
Time: 8:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Matt Wisler (2-1, 2.60 ERA) vs. RH Kyle Lohse (5-9, 6.24)
Comment: Wisler is gunning for his first road win after winning his first two major league starts at Turner Field, allowing just one earned run in 13 1/3 innings combined. He lost his first start on the road, after giving up six runs over the first three innings of a 7-0 loss in Washington. The Brewers have given Lohse 19 runs of support in his past two starts, a big part of the reason why he won both those starts while allowing four earned runs each time.
Tuesday
Time: 8:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves LH Manny Banuelos (0-0, 0.00) vs. RH Matt Garza (4-10, 5.55)
Comment: Cramping and dehydration is the only thing that went wrong in Banuelos' major league debut, forcing him out after 5 2/3 shutout innings when he'd allowed only two hits. Banuelos walked none and struck out seven in an impressive first outing. He shouldn't have dehydration issues in Wisconsin and the confines of Miller Park. Garza is tied for the second-most losses in the National League behind former Brave Aaron Harang (11). Garza is 0-3 with a 7.88 ERA over his past four starts.
Wednesday
Time: 2:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: RH Julio Teheran (5-4, 4.94) vs. RH Mike Fiers (4-7, 3.83)
Comment: Teheran's home-road splits have been well-documented but are worth mentioning again as the Braves close out the first half on the road. Teheran is 5-0 with a 2.04 ERA in eight starts at Turner Field this season. But he is just 1-4 with a 7.40 ERA in nine road starts. Teheran gave up six earned runs in each of his past two road starts at Pittsburgh and at Boston. It's a sign that Fiers is pitching well when he just threw seven shutout innings, allowing three hits, at hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. The Brewers have won Fiers' past three starts while he's given up just three earned runs in 20 innings (1.35 ERA).
