NEXT: VS TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Tuesday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Julio Teheran (10-7, 4.38 ERA) vs. LH Mark Buehrle (14-7, 3.72)
Comment: Teheran is 4-1 with a 3.58 ERA in eight starts since moving his wind-up over to the first base side of the rubber. Left-handers are now hitting .299 against him, which is an improvement, and right-handers are hitting .217. Buehrle was scheduled to start Saturday against the Yankees but got pushed back three days after getting a cortisone shot in his left shoulder. The Braves haven't faced Buehrle since 2013, his first year with the Blue Jays. He held the Braves to one run in six innings to move to 4-2 with a 4.35 ERA in seven starts against Atlanta. His old White Sox batterymate A.J. Pierzynski, who caught 164 of his games, can run the Braves' scouting meeting.
Wednesday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Shelby Miller (5-14, 2.86) vs. RH Drew Hutchinson (13-4, 5.33)
Comment: Back in happier times during the early part of the season, Miller recorded his second win as a Brave in Toronto on April 19 after holding the Blue Jays to two runs in six innings of a 5-2 victory. Miller's winless streak is up to 21 straight starts, during which he is 0-13 with a 3.51 ERA. Now he has perhaps only four starts left to end the streak before the season is over. Miller is ranked sixth in the National League with a 2.86 ERA and is tied for the third-most losses in the league with 14. The Braves scored five runs (four earned) in 4 2/3 innings against Hutchinson in an 8-7 win in Toronto April 17. He's given up 12 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings over his past two starts, both losses.
Thursday
Time: 7:10 p.m.
TV: SPSO
Probable starting pitchers: Braves RH Matt Wisler (5-7, 5.60) vs. LH David Price (15-5, 2.46)
Comment: Wisler appears to have turned a corner after making a relief appearance against the Nationals. Since then he has allowed just two runs in his past eight innings, with four walks and eight strikeouts. This comes after Wisler had gone 1-6 with a 9.49 ERA in his previous seven starts going back through Aug. 1. Price faces the Braves for the first time as a Blue Jay. He pitched against them twice for Tampa, going 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA, allowing just three earned runs in 12 innings. He last faced the Braves on May 20, 2012, going seven innings allowing two runs (one earned).
