What's new: If it goes anything like the first few weeks of the season, this pitching matchup favors the Braves, who send out their most consistent starter in Miller. He is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in three starts against the Phillies. This is his second career start at Citizens Bank Park. He pitched there Aug. 23, allowing three earned runs in six innings of a no decision. On offense, it's been a struggle of late for the Braves. Entering this series they ranked 20th in the majors in runs scored (60), though the Phillies were last, 30th, with 41. The Braves are struggling to score runs in part because the top two spots in their order have failed to produce. The Braves rank 14th in the National League, ahead of only the Reds, with a .254 on-base percentage from their leadoff hitters and last in the NL with a .190 on-base percentage from their No. 2 hitters.
