How the winning run scored: With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night, and Pawtucket trailing 4-2, Bryce Brentz smashed a three-run homer to left field, scoring Jackie Bradley and Drew Sutton to give the Red Sox the victory over visiting Gwinnett.
At the plate: G-Braves leadoff hitter Jose Constanza was 3-for-5 with a triple and a run scored. Joe Leonard was 2-f0r-4 with a run scored, and Tyler Pastornicky drove in two runs. Eight of Gwinnett's nine hits were singles.
On the mound: G-Braves starter Daniel Rodriguez allowed no runs in six innings. He gave up four hits and walked two, and he struck out five. Reliever Wirfin Obispo (0-2) entered the game in the ninth to face Brentz and gave up the lead in only three pitches.
Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (16-27) are scheduled to begin a four-game series against the Louisville Bats at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
