Jeff Francoeur had three hits in his second game since being traded by the Braves to the Marlins Friday night in Miami. Francoeur is 4-for-5 in two games. He started in right field and also scored a run Friday night.

Francoeur was drafted by the Braves in 2002 out of Parkview High School in Gwinnett. He returned to the Braves for a second tour this season but was traded to Miami.

Jeff Francoeur spent nearly a full season with the New York Mets following a 2009 trade from the Braves, where he batted .268. He was traded to the Texas Rangers in 2010 in a post-deadline deal.

Jeff Francoeur joined the Texas Rangers for a post-season run in the 2010 season, following a trade from the New York Mets. He batted .125 in the playoffs, and went 0-for-7 in the World Series, which the Rangers lost. He was granted free agency at the end of the season.

Following his post-season run with the Rangers, Jeff Francoeur signed with the Kansas City Royals. He enjoyed his longest post-Braves stint in the AL Central, batting .254 and 39 homers in 360 games. The Royals released Francoeur in July 2013.

Days after his release from Kansas City, Jeff Francoeur joined the San Francisco Giants for the remainder of the 2013 season. He played 22 games in the Giants' outfield - only once in right field - batting .194 in 64 plate appearances. He was released by the Giants at season's end.

Following the 2013 season, Jeff Francoeur signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians with an invitation to spring training. He did not make the Indians' roster and was released before the team broke camp for the 2014 season.

After failing to make the Cleveland Indians' roster, Jeff Francoeur signed a minor league with the San Diego Padres and enjoyed an entertaining 125-game stint with their Triple-A affiliate, the El Paso Chihuahuas, in which he hit, pitched and was the victim of several prank as a 30-year-old minor leaguer.

The San Diego Padres called up Jeff Francoeur for 10 games in 2014, hitting .083. He was designated for assignment and rejoined the team's Triple-A affiliate for the remainder of the season. He opted for free agency at season's end.

Jeff Francoeur was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies for the 2015 season where he hit .258, with 13 homers and 45 RBIs for in 326 at-bats.

Jeff Francoeur not only hit for the Phillies but also pitched out of the bullpen. He walked three, struck out one, hit a batter and allowed two runs off a home run over two innings in a 19-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles in June. He became a free agent at the end of the 2015 season.
