Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves have unveiled images of their planned stadium and mixed-use development in Cobb. The Braves will move from Turner Field in 2017.

The ballpark is designed with the fans in mind. With 41,500 seats, the more intimate configuration maximizes sightlines and elevations, placing a higher percentage of seats closer to the field than any other ballpark in Major League Baseball. A 90-foot roof – three times the size of our current roof – and air conditioning on every level will ensure that a majority of fans are cool on hot summer days. Youngsters will be able to run the bases on a mini-field in the kids zone adjacent to the ballpark. The popular Chop House will not only overlook the action on the field, but the action on the plaza outside the front gate. -- The Atlanta Braves

The existing topography of the property has been carefully integrated into the design. The intimacy of the ballpark will be accentuated by building the facility into the gently sloping terrain. Trees will separate parking sections that cascade down the slopes. Because of the way the ballpark nestles into the hillside, fans will arrive on the home plate side of the park on the mezzanine level, while entering the outfield side (off the plaza) at field level. -- The Atlanta Braves

Restaurants and shops along a spacious boulevard will allow visitors and residents to satisfy their inner foodie, shop for the latest fashions, and take advantage of unique retail offerings before or after the game. Our main street will feature stores that are open year round, not just on game days. Roads inside the community will be open most days, but on game days streets will be partially closed to provide a more walkable environment for fans heading to the ballpark. -- The Atlanta Braves

The plaza will be a grand central gathering space for fans, families, residents and visitors. It will serve as a hub of activity, with new and fresh events throughout the year. Residents and visitors might catch a concert, movie, or a craft beer in the entertainment venues neighboring the plaza, or enjoy a weekend street festival. On game days, members of Braves Country will gather in the plaza, surrounded by iconic team monuments and championship flags. -- The Atlanta Braves

Most great gathering places around the world include water features, and the new Braves ballpark will be no different. A one-acre water feature will anchor the park-like setting just south of the outfield stands. Fountains will perform after a Braves home run or victory. Guests in rooms on the north side of the boutique hotel will enjoy views overlooking the water, the plaza, and the ballpark. -- The Atlanta Braves

Enhancing fan experience is central to our mission in the designing and building of the new ballpark, and that includes fostering a welcoming environment in how you get to the ballpark. Our new location, a short distance from downtown Atlanta and Buckhead, will have 14 access points from major roadways. It will feature more than 6,000 parking spots on the property with the potential to utilize existing lots nearby, which will add thousands of additional spaces within walking distance. -- The Atlanta Braves
