Second baseman Ozzie Albies had three hits and a stolen base, scored a run and drove in a run but the Gwinnett Braves lost to the host Toledo Mud Hens 12-5 in Triple-A baseball Thursday night.

Albies went 3-for-5 and upped his average to .277. The steal was his 19th of the season.

Gwinnett starter Andrew Albers (6-3) got the loss after going 5 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits and six earned runs, with one walk and four strikeouts. Reliever Mauricio Cabrera was tagged for four earned runs and four hits in 2/3rds of an inning.

Carlos Franco was 3-for-4 for the Braves (39-39) and Rio Ruiz was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

Kris Medlen pitches for the Braves Friday night in the first game of a series with Charlotte. Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman is expected to play for Gwinnett Saturday.
