How the game was won: The Marlins scored two runs in the second inning and cruised to a 4-1 win against the Braves and Shelby Miller, denying the Braves a four-game series sweep and extending Miller's winless streak to 15 starts despite his 3.16 ERA in that span. The Braves failed to score while he was in eight of those games including Sunday, when they trailed 3-0 until Jonny Gomes' solo homer in the seventh. Marlins lefty Brad Hand limited the Braves to two hits, one run and two walks in seven innings, and Miller (5-9) gave up five hits, two runs and four walks in five innings.

Number: 0-8. Shelby Miller's record during his 15-start winless drought. It's the most consecutive losses by a Braves pitcher since Braves pitcher since Kenshin Kawakami lost 11 straight from Sept. 9, 2009 to June 15, 2010.

What's next: The Braves are off Monday before a quick two-game road trip to Tampa Bay. Rookie Williams Perez (4-2, 4.48 ERA) will face Rays right-hander Erasmo Ramirez (8-4, 3.83) in Tuesday's 7:10 p.m. series opener.
