Lucas Sims of Lawrenceville pitched seven shutout innings and improved to 2-0 as the Gwinnett Braves beat visiting Rochester 3-0 in Triple-A play Thursday.

Sims, rated as Atlanta's 18th-best prospect by MLB.com, allowed just three hits and walked none while striking out five for Gwinnett (9-5).
Gwinnett's Ozzie Albies extended his International League-leading hitting streak to 13 games with a single to left in the first inning.

Rio Ruiz went 2-for-4 for Gwinnett in a game that did not have an extra-base hit.

The homestand continues Friday with Atlanta United FC Night when the Braves host the Pawtucket Red Sox.

The first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive an Atlanta United FC koozie cup sleeve. Gwinnett players will be wearing Atlanta United FC-themed jerseys that will be auctioned online after the game.
