Good morning. This is Leadoff, the early buzz in Atlanta sports.
The Braves are now selling six-game ticket packages for their inaugural season at SunTrust Park.
Previously, only full-season and 27-game packages were available.
The Braves began selling the six-game packages Tuesday, offering them in five areas of the ballpark. Prices depend not only on seat location but also on the games selected.
The packages are available in these seating areas: "diamond corner" (left field and right field corners in the lower level), "terrace corner" (left field and right field corners in the middle level), "home run porch" (beyond the outfield), "vista infield" (behind and between the dugouts in the upper deck) and "grandstand reserved" (upper rows of upper deck down the right-field line).
Each seat has five different prices, depending on the games/days selected. Basically, games that are expected to be in high demand cost more than games likely to be in lower demand. Games are classified as marquee (most expensive), premier, select, value and super value (least expensive).
The Braves used a similar system of variable pricing in recent years at Turner Field.
For example, this season’s first two home games April 14-15 (Friday and Saturday nights) are marquee games, the third home game April 16 is a select game and the fourth home game April 17 is super value.
Here’s an illustration of how the games chosen affect prices: A diamond corner seat is $47 for each of April 14-15 games, $37 for April 16 and $25 for April 17.
Another illustration: A grandstand reserved seat is $12 for each of the April 14-15 games, $9 for April 16 and $6 for April 17.
All Saturday home games throughout the season are classified as marquee or premier.
Buyers are allowed to choose a maximum of three Friday and Saturday games per six-game plan.
The Braves have said single-game tickets will go on sale March 10.
