How the winning run scored: Blake Tekotte's two-out double in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday night drove home Travis Ishikawa to give Charlotte a 2-1 lead.
At the plate: Outfielder B.J. Upton began his injury-rehab assignment for the Atlanta Braves. He batted leadoff and was 0-for-3 with a strikeout swinging. The G-Braves managed four hits by four different batters. Ernesto Mejia and Brandon Boggs each had a double. Mejia's double produced the G-Braves' only run.
On the mound: Gwinnett starter Cody Martin allowed one run on five hits in eight innings, striking out seven and walking two. Reliever Mark Lamm (1-1) allowed the winning run in the ninth.
Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (47-64) and the Knights (51-60) continue their series at 6:05 p.m. Thursday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Gwinnett right-hander David Hale (5-5, 2.86 ERA) is scheduled to start against righty Zach Stewart (5-11, 4.78).
