Jordan Schafer finally allowed an earned run, and with it he lost a chance for his first save.

The former Braves outfielder is trying to work his way back to the majors as a pitcher. He’s on the roster for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers in the Dodgers organization and until Wednesday had not allowed a run this season.

On Wednesday, he entered in the ninth inning, with the Drillers leading 6-5. He proceeded to give up the tying run, blowing his first save opportunity of the season — and his pro career.

He also pitched the 10th, holding the tie. The Drillers lost the game in the 12th inning.

For the season, Schafer has made nine appearances, with no starts, and has a 0.68 ERA. He has pitched 13 1/3 innings and struck out 13 and walked one. He has allowed two runs, one earned, and one home run.

Schafer was credited with a hold in three of his outings.
