Jeff Francoeur visits his old Lilburn elementary school

Atlanta Braves player Jeff Francoeur visited his old elementary school, Camp Creek, in Lilburn on Friday. He signed autographs and answered questions from the students.

Atlanta Braves player Jeff Francoeur was the center of attention as he visited Camp Creek Elementary School in Lilburn on Friday. Francoeur was a student at the school as a child. The right fielder even joked with the kids about his recent batting slump. When asked how many hits he had gotten in Thursday's Braves game, he said, "Three -- which is a lot more than I've gotten in the last month."

Francoeur's wife, Catie, also visited the school. Here she helps Grace Caylor, a visually impaired second grader, grip a baseball.

Braves photographer Todd Kirkland, who went along to chronicle the visit, takes a shot of Francoeur with his mother, Karen, and Catie. Francoeur's mother is a long-time teacher at Camp Creek Elementary.

Francoeur answered questions all monrning, including for this third-grade class. Students Gracie Griffith, Will Clark and Celia Matthew look on intently as the Braves player signs a baseball.

Francoeur had the back of second grader Sean Johnson, who wanted his Braves replica jersey signed.

No, he's not grading homework: Fifth grader Noah Mills laughs as Francoeur gives an autograph. The Braves' right fielder signed everything from T-shirts, backpacks and hats to a few arms, a forehead and a Harry Potter book.

Evan Huang, a first grader, hasn't let a disappointing season dampen his enthusiasm for the Braves. Behind Evan are classmates Tyler Lee (left) and Cameron Nanney.

Though he's a big boy now, Francoeur got a loving hug from his former fourth-grade teacher, Judy Buchanan. Her husband was Francoeur's baseball coach at Parkview High School.
