How the winning run scored: With two outs in the top of the second inning, a passed ball allowed by Gwinnett catcher Gerald Laird allowed two runs to score, giving Lehigh Valley a 3-0 lead over Gwinnett on Saturday night. Laird was playing his second game on a rehab assignment for the Atlanta Braves.

At the plate: G-Braves leadoff batter Jose Constanza was 3-for-5. Ernesto Mejia, Greg Golson and Philip Gosselin had two hits apiece.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Cody Martin (2-4) was hit hard. He gave up nine runs in five innings, allowing 12 hits and walking two. He also threw two wild pitches and gave up a home run.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (51-71) and the IronPigs (62-60) continue their series at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. CSS plans to televise the game. The scheduled starting pitchers are right-hander David Hale (6-6, 2.99 ERA) for Gwinnett against lefty Adam Morgan (2-5, 3.86).
