How the winning run scored: Lehigh Valley's Jermaine Mitchell led off the bottom of the third inning with a double. Leandro Castro followed him to the plate and reached base on a bunt attempt. A throwing error by Gwinnett pitcher Tim Corcoran allowed Mitchell to score the run that gave the IronPigs a 1-0 lead in their home victory Friday night.

At the plate: Jose Constanza and Joey Terdoslavich each was 2-f0r-4 for the G-Braves. Gwinnett left runners on second (Terdoslavich) and third (Ernesto Mejia) when pinch-hitter Brandon Boggs, the go-ahead run, was called out on strikes.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Corcoran (3-4) pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (24-32) and the IronPigs (25-29) continue their series at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. Gwinnett plans to start right-hander Omar Poveda (3-3, 2.84 ERA) against righty B.J. Rosenberg (1-4, 4.10).
