Gwinnett falls despite two homers from Riley, another from Duvall

Braves third base prospect Austin Riley made his Triple-A debut Monday, May 7, 2018, going 1-for-5 with a single and three strikeouts in the Gwinnett Stripers' 5-4 loss to the Charlotte Knights.

Austin Riley went 4-for-5, with two solo home runs and a double, and Adam Duvall homered again for Triple-A Gwinnett in a 10-7 loss at Charlotte on Wednesday. Duvall now has nine and Riley six home runs on the season.

Gwinnett also got home runs from Pedro Florimon and Sean Kazmar Jr.

Gwinnett (15-11) took a 5-0 lead with three home runs in the third inning, the third three-homer inning in franchise history. The lead was gone by the sixth inning when Charlotte took it for good.

Kolby Allard started and got a no-decision after yielding seven runs, three earned, over 5.1 innings. Jason Creasy took the loss.

Braves reliever Jonny Venters threw a scoreless seventh inning with one strikeout in his fourth rehab appearance. He has been sidelined with a right calf strain since April 15.
