NEW YORK – Freddie Freeman reached base in 26 consecutive games via hit or walk before the streak was snapped Wednesday. But it didn't take long for the Braves first baseman and Mets nemesis to get back on track.

Freeman had an RBI double and single in his first two plate appearances in Thursday night’s series finale, after entering with a .321 average and career-bests of 21 doubles, 13 homers and 55 RBIs in 65 games against the Mets. He was 29-for-72 (.403) with four homers and 20 RBIs in his past 17 games against them before Thursday.

It’s been two months since Freeman went consecutive games without at least one hit or walk, on May 10-11 against the Cubs.
