How the winning run scored: Roberto Perez's two-out single to right field drove home Matt Carson to give Columbus a 5-4 lead over visiting Gwinnett on Thursday night. The run was the third of six the Clippers scored in the inning.

At the plate: Gwinnett's Joe Leonard was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. He was the only G-Brave with multiple hits. Teammates Alden Carrithers and Tyler Greene each had a double among Gwinnett's nine hits. Three Clippers hits home runs: Tim Fedroff, Ryan Rohlinger and Carson. Juan Diaz scored three runs for Columbus.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Yohan Flande lasted 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on three hits. He walked four and struck out five.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (56-77) and the Clippers (65-68) meet again at 7:15 p.m. Friday. Gwinnett right-hander David Hale (6-7, 2.80 ERA) is scheduled to start against left-hander T.J. House (6-10, 4.32).
