Braves manager Brian Snitker said before Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays that he is happy with the ongoing rehabilitation of outfielder Austin Riley and reliever Darren O’Day.

Riley went 2-for-5 as the designated hitter with Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday night, but it was the continued ability to make baseball plays that pleased his skipper. Riley injured his right knee in the weight room earlier this month.

“He tagged up from first on a long fly ball, he’s sliding and doing everything baseball related and running the bases, everything you need to see,” Snitker said. “He just needs at-bats and timing now.”

O’Day made his season debut Aug. 23 after missing the entire year with a forearm strain. Snitker said the right-handed pitcher was going to throw Tuesday, make one appearance for Single-A Florida before he was moved up to Triple-A Gwinnett.
