Braves' opponent: Los Angeles Dodgers

Keep an eye on: The Dodgers' home numbers. They were leading the majors with a 19-5 home record entering play Sunday. The Dodgers are unbeaten in their past 12 home series, going 11-0-1 in that span dating back to 2014. They are hitting .269 at Dodger Stadium as a team, compared to .244 on the road. And their home ERA is 2.65 compared to 3.89 on the road.

Who's hot: Closer Kenley Jansen picked up where he left off when he came off the DL on May 15 having recovered from surgery on a broken left foot. He has converted his first three save opportunities to make that 8-for-8 during a streak of 13 straight scoreless outings since Sept. 5, 2014.

Who's not: The Dodgers' lineup and manager Don Mattingly. Entering Sunday, the Dodgers had scored just six runs in their previous seven games, including three straight shutout losses in San Francisco. The Dodgers hadn't been shut out in three straight games since the Giants did it to them June 25-27, 2012. The Dodgers needed an unearned run in the fifth inning Friday against the Padres to snap a scoreless streak of 35 innings, tied for their third longest in franchise history.

Braves connection: Brandon Beachy, who signed with the Dodgers this past winter, threw a simulated game Friday but is still a ways from returning from his second Tommy John surgery. Beachy told the L.A. Times afterward he'll continue to throw simulated games and that he wasn't yet ready for a minor league rehabilitation assignment.

In the news: Hyun-Jin Ryu underwent surgery Thursday for a torn labrum in his left shoulder and is out for the rest of the season. The Dodgers put catcher Yasmani Grandal on the 7-day disabled list Saturday with a concussion and recalled Austin Barnes from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Grandal got hit by a bat on a follow-through and again on a foul tip Friday night.
