DENVER — The Braves' scheduled series opener against Colorado was postponed Monday night due to snow and will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Tuesday, with start times of 3:10 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. EDT.

Monday’s would-be starters, left-handers Mike Minor of the Braves and Jeff Francis of the Rockies, are set to start the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader, with Julio Teheran facing Colorado’s Jon Garland in the Tuesday night game as originally planned.

It was the fifth Braves game at Colorado that’s been snowed out, all five in April and the most recent in 2008. The Rockies have had 16 games postponed by snow in Denver, including three this season.

Snow began falling late Monday morning and was expected to accumulate as the temperature dropped in the early evening. As much as 4-8 inches of snow was predicted for Denver overnight.

There was chance for lingering snow showers into the early afternoon Tuesday, and temperatures were expected to hover in the low-30s most of the day and dip into the upper 20s by 9 p.m. Mountain time.
