The Braves signed veteran utility man Emilio Bonifacio to a minor-league deal on Sunday and assigned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

The Braves designated Bonifacio for assignment on April 2 as they opted for other bench options. Bonifacio, 30, has played every position in the field except first base over nine seasons in the majors while hitting .259 with a .316 on-base percentage.

Bonifacio is expected to join the G-Braves in Durham on Monday.
