The Braves promoted 19-year-old prospect Ronald Acuna to Triple-A Thursday.

He immediately showed why.

Acuna went 3-for-5 with a homer, two singles, a walk and two RBIs in his first game for the Gwinnett Braves.

The G-Braves (45-44) beat host Charlotte 13-4. Gwinnett starter Matt Wisler (5-5) allowed just two earned runs and six hits in seven innings. He struck out eight and walked two.

Acuna played right field and batted leadoff and struck out in his first at-bat. Then he started connecting. He’s also scored three runs.

His third-inning homer came off Charlotte right-hander Tyler Danish, who has pitched four games in the majors.

Acuna lined out to first in his last at-bat in the ninth, leaving him with a .600 batting average.
