Braves' projected batting order in 2013

2013 will be the first season in nearly 20 years without Chipper Jones in the lineup.

For the first time in nearly 20 years, the Braves will enter a season without Chipper Jones in the batting order. The projected batting lineup for 2013 includes a few new names and shift in the offense. This is how it may shake out: In his first season in the majors, the Braves shortstop had 48 hits, 3 homers while batting . 289 with a .751 OPS.

After a rough sophomore season, Braves rightfielder Jason Heyward bounced back in 2012 hitting .269 with 27 homers, 82 RBIs, 93 runs, and 21 stolen bases.

Braves' latest trade acquisition, Justin Upton, has averaged 23 homers, 19 steals and a .846 OPS in his four full seasons.

Catcher Brian McCann battled injury and batted a career low .230 last season, hitting 20 home runs and driving in 67 runs. He is expected to miss the first month of the season.

Braves new center fielder B.J. Upton has averaged 19 homers, 36 steals and a .768 OPS over his six full seasons.

In his first two seasons with the Braves, first baseman Freddie Freeman has averaged .271 with 22 homers and 85 RBIs per season.

In his first two seasons in Atlanta, second baseman Dan Uggla hit .227 with 55 homers and 160 RBIs. He saw career lows last season in those three categories - .220 average, 19 home runs and 78 RBIs.

Braves' newest third baseman Chris Johnson hit .286 and had a .503 slugging percentage with the Astros and Diamondbacks last season. He had 137 hits, with 15 homers in 488 at-bats.

Likely to share time at third is Juan Francisco, who last year with Atlanta had 192 at-bats, batting .234 with 9 homers and 32 RBIs.
