How the game was won: Williams Perez was on lockdown mode all night, allowing just four hits and one unearned run over seven innings. He struck out five and walked two, a marked improvement from his last start when he walked five over five innings. He improved to 2-0 on the season.

Kelly Johnson got the scoring started in a two-run second inning, knocking in Nick Markakis with an RBI single to deep right. This was Johnson’s first game back since landing on the disabled list with an oblique strain May 14.

The bullpen had its second good night in a row, with Brandon Cunniff getting the hold and Jim Johnson earning his third save.

Number: 24. The number of games Johnson missed before going 3-4 tonight in his return to the lineup. The Braves went 13-11 with Johnson on the disabled list.

What's next: Atlanta can jump back to .500 for the first time since June 2. Julio Teheran (4-2, 4.87 ERA) will start against Andrew Cashner (2-8, 4.05 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 12:10.
