A recap of the Braves’ victory against the Washington Nationals on Monday at Turner Field.

How the game was won: The Braves rode left-hander Eric Stults' strong start and three RBIs by outfielder Kelly Johnson to an 8-4 victory. Stults held the Nationals to a run and three hits over 6 1/3 innings. Johnson's two-run home run and Eric Young Jr.'s squeeze bunt RBI pushed the Braves to a 5-1 lead in the sixth.

Number: 10. Consecutive games with a hit for Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who has hit safely in every game he's played this season.

Next: The Braves play the Nationals at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday on SportsSouth. Julio Teheran (2-1, 4.64 ERA) faces TBA.
