How the winning run scored: Consecutive doubles by Gwinnett's Joe Leonard and Paul Janish in the seventh inning scored Leonard to give the G-Braves a 3-2 lead over Toledo on Friday night. Leonard's double drove home Brandon Boggs with the tying run.
At the plate: Boggs was 2-for-3 with a run scored. He and Nick Castellanos of Toledo (2-for-4, one run scored) were the only players with more than one hit. Each team finished with five hits.
On the mound: On a rehab assignment from the Atlanta Braves, Brandon Beachy started for Gwinnett and pitched four innings, giving up two runs on two hits. He walked three, struck out three and allowed a homer. Yohan Flande (2-4) relieved Beachy and gave up no runs on two hits in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out four.
Up next for Gwinnett: The teams meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Lefty Sean Gilmartin (2-3, 4.23 ERA) is scheduled to start for the G-Braves (19-30) against righty Shawn Hill (0-4, 4.92) of the Mud Hens (15-34).
