How the winning run scored: Brandon Boggs hit a two-run homer with one out in the sixth inning to give the Gwinnett Braves a 6-5 lead over the Toledo Mud Hens on Thursday night. Ernesto Mejia scored on the play, part of a four-run inning for the G-Braves.

At the plate: Six of Gwinnett's 10 hits went for extra bases. In addition to Boggs' home run, Todd Cunningham and Mejia each hit a triple, and Paul Janish, Joe Leonard and Tyler Pastornicky each doubled.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Daniel Rodriguez allowed five runs on five hits (including two doubles and a triple) in five innings. He also walked five, and he struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (18-30) and the Mud Hens (15-33) continue their series at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Atlanta Braves right-hander Brandon Beachy, on an injury-rehab assignment, is scheduled to start for Gwinnett against lefty Jose Alvarez (4-2, 1.98 ERA) of Toledo.
