PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Braves and Mets players wore the navy and red caps of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s baseball team during a Grapefruit League opener Friday at Port St. Lucie.

The gesture was made by all major league teams to support students of school and community in Parkland, Fla., after a mass shooting Feb. 14 that killed 17 students and faculty members at the school. All teams wore the caps for their first spring-training games and most will sign and auction off the caps to raise money to support funds and foundations that assist victims of the shooting and their families.
