How the game was won: The Braves got a seven-run outburst in the first inning and rolled to their second consecutive win to start the season. They got six hits and three walks in the first inning, including RBI doubles from Freddie Freeman, Christian Bethancourt and Chris Johnson, a two-run single by Andrelton Simmons, and run-scoring singles by Nick Markakis and Eric Young Jr., who led off the inning with a walk and stolen second base before Markakis drove him in. Number: 7. The Braves' seven runs in the first inning matched their 2014 first-inning best. The last time they scored seven in the first inning was June 10 at Colorado, when Simmons hit a first-inning grand slam. Freddie Freeman and Evan Gattis homered later in that 13-10 Braves win against the Rockies.

Next: The Braves will try for a sweep when they face the Marlins in the finale of a three-game series Wednesday night. Right-hander Shelby Miller makes his Braves regular-season debut with a start against right-hander Tom Koehler.
