How the game was won: After the Braves' bullpen blew an 8-5 lead in the eighth inning, Eury Perez hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the eighth and the Braves won 9-8.

The Braves scored five runs before Marlins starter Jose Urena recorded six outs and they finished the game with nine runs on 12 hits. They had four runs on 16 hits over their past two games against the Giants.

Nick Markakis and A.J. Pierzynski extended their hitting streaks to 13 and 11, respectively, and Jace Peterson continued his hot hitting with a 2-for-5 night.

Matt Wisler labored through 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks. Arodys Vizcaino got his first career save.

Urena finished his outing after two innings, allowing five runs on six hits. He officially left the game with a left-knee contusion, as Daniel Castro hit him with a one-out comebacker in the second.

Number: 4. Adonis Garcia has 11 hits since getting called up on July 25, and four of them are home runs. He hit his fourth Thursday night.

What's next: The Braves host the Marlins for the second of a four-game series. Julio Teheran (7-6, 4.59 ERA) will start against Jose Fernandez (4-0, 2.13 ERA).
