A look at how ex-Braves are faring around the majors:
Jason Heyward, OF
St. Louis Cardinals
Heyward went 7-for-15 in a four-game surge but then went 11 at-bats without a hit though Thursday. He’s hitting .236 with two homers and eight RBIs.
Craig Kimbrel, P
San Diego Padres
Kimbrel had his first blown save of the season May 9, but he’s 10-for-11 in save opportunities with San Diego. His ERA remains shocking at 5.93.
Dan Uggla, 2B
Washington Nationals
He isn’t playing much with Yunel Escobar and Ian Desmond back. Uggla had four at-bats in the past week and is hitting only .214. He does have 11 RBIs.
Evan Gattis, OF-DH
Houston Astros
You’d think it can’t get much worse than a .181 batting average, but then Gattis goes 1-for-19 (0.53) with no RBIs in the past week. He sat Thursday.
Justin Upton, OF
San Diego Padres
He’s hitting .281 with eight homers and 24 RBIs and is 8-for-8 in stolen-base attempts in 34 games. He had eight steals in 154 games last season.
Brian McCann, C -1B
New York Yankees
McCann had a six-game hitting streak snapped Thursday night. He’s batting .241 with 20 RBIs, which projects to a 90-RBI season. He had 57 in his last season with the Braves (2013).
Tim Hudson, P
San Francisco Giants
He’s lost two starts in a row and is 1-3 this season with a 4.57 ERA. Hudson has allowed at least three runs in his past six starts and he’s given up eight homers in his past five games.
Jeff Francoeur, OF
Philadelphia Phillies
He’s hitting just .207 with two homers and nine RBIs, but became the first Phillies outfielder since 2008 to throw out a potential game-tying run at the plate to end a game Wednesday.
Martin Prado, 3B
Miami Marlins
Mr. Consistency: Prado is hitting. 291 this season, which matches his career average. He also has two homers and 15 RBIs in his 10th season in the majors.
Melvin Upton Jr. OF
San Diego Padres
Manager Bud Black says Upton is recovering well from his foot injury and could be playing for San Diego as soon as June 1. Upton is working out at extended spring training.
