Shortstop Dansby Swanson’s season has begun on a tear for high-Single-A Carolina.

On Monday, Swanson was 3-for-5, with an RBI, a double and a run scored in the Mudcats’ 6-4 loss to Salem.

Swanson has six multi-hit games out of 12 played this season.

Overall, he is hitting. 367 (18-for-49), with seven doubles, six RBIs and seven runs scored. He has a .426 on-base percentage and a .936 OPS.

Swanson has five walks and eight strikeouts. He also is 4-for-4 in stolen-base attempts.

He’s made one error in 55 chances and taken part in 12 double plays.

Elsewhere Monday around the Braves’ farm system:

• Right-hander Mike Foltynewicz pitched five innings for Triple-A Gwinnett in the G-Braves’ 5-4 loss against the Durham Braves. He allowed four runs and four hits and walked four, and he struck out five.

• Shortstop Ozzie Albies was 1-for-3 with a double and run scored for Double-A Mississippi as the M-Braves defeated Chattanooga 5-3. He walked once and struck out once. Albies is hitting .327 and has hit safely in 10 of his 12 games this season.

• Outfielder Braxton Davidson, also at Carolina, was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a double.

• Pitcher Mike Soroka worked through his first rough outing of the season for Single-A Rome in the R-Braves’ 5-2 loss to Augusta. Soroka pitched five innings and allowed four runs on seven hits. However, he struck out six to go with one walk.
