An update on the status of Braves on the disabled list:

Shea Simmons (April 2, Tommy John rehab): After a setback that required he shut down due to shoulder tendinits, the reliever is scheduled to throw a side session on Monday as he restarts the rehab process.

Williams Perez (June 7, right rotator cuff strain): Resumed playing catch but has not yet begun a throwing program.

Eric O’Flaherty (June 13, right knee strain): Pitched for Class Single-A Rome on Saturday (one inning, one hit, one strikeout). Projected to throw three or four games and could rejoin the team for the first road trip of the second half, which begins July 18 in Cincinnati.

Mallex Smith (June 20, broken left thumb): Expected to be examined to assess his hand strength this week. May not return until September.

Additionally, catcher Tyler Flowers is scheduled on Monday for a precautionary MRI on his left hand, which he strained during a Saturday at-bat that forced him out of the game. It is hoped that after the All-Star break, he will be available for Friday’s resumption of play against Colorado.

“I’m hoping nothing is wrong, that the MRI will come back clean,” interim manager Brian Snitker said. “Four days off, good to come back.”
