The Braves designated veteran infielder Reid Brignac for assignment Friday and recalled Adonis Garcia from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the open roster spot.

Brignac, 30, has played in 13 games for the Braves this season while hitting .207 (6-for-29) with eight strikeouts and no walks. He started three games at third base and two at second.

Garcia hit .356 in 19 games for the G-Braves with seven doubles, four home runs and 18 RBIs. He had a .413 on-base percentage and a 1.029 OPS. He also committed no errors in 29 chances covering 17 games in left field. He played two games at DH.
