The Braves will be flying in style to Cleveland for the All-Star game. The team’s representatives and their families will travel together in a chartered jet, courtesy of the team.
“It was a classy move by the organization to let us all go together,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said Saturday before the second game of the Braves’ series with the Marlins at SunTrust Park. “It makes it more special.”
National League manager Dave Roberts of the Los Angeles Dodgers asked Snitker to be one of his assistants. First baseman Freddie Freeman and center fielder Ronald Acuna were voted to start the game. Rookie Mike Soroka was chosen to the pitching staff.
“Everybody is excited,” Snitker said. “Freddie’s preparing everybody, telling them what to do and how to do it, all that.”
