How the winning run scored: Matt Pagnozzi drove home three runs with a two-out, bases-loaded triple in the third inning. His hit gave Gwinnett a 4-0 lead over Louisville. The G-Braves padded their lead with three runs in the fourth.
At the plate: Corey Wimberly was 3-for-5, including two doubles, and scored two runs. Todd Cunningham was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the fourth, and Joey Terdoslavich was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jose Constanza had one hit, a triple in the fifth, when he scored on a double by Wimberly. The G-Braves had 11 hits, five for extra bases.
On the mound: G-Braves starter Omar Poveda (2-0) pitched 7 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks. Poveda struck out four. Cory Rasmus recorded his third save by retiring one batter in the ninth.
Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (10-11) and the Bats (10-10) meet again at 6:35 p.m. Thursday in the third game of a four-game series. Left-hander Daniel Rodriguez (1-1, 8.76 ERA) is Gwinnett's scheduled starter.
