Former Braves great Andruw Jones said he’s likely to announce his retirement this year.
In August, Jones had talked about potentially making a comeback after two seasons in Japan, but now says he’s leaning toward retirement.
“I’ll probably soon retire,” Jones said Saturday during FanFest at Turner Field. “I feel like I can be at home with my kids and teach them a couple things. I haven’t announced it yet, but I probably will.”
Jones, a five-time All-Star, spent more than 11 seasons with the Atlanta Braves.
The 38-year-old now lives in Atlanta and is interested in being a part of the team in the future.
“We had a couple discussions to see what’s going on,” Jones said. “I would love to share my knowledge, my experience of playing the game for a long time to some of these young kids.”
