Look, we all make mistakes.  But there are mistakes, and then there are mistakes, the kind that make your life miserable for a little while.

A newspaper has published a headline  making the rounds on social and giving those inner comedians an outlet - and the copy editor responsible a very big headache.

The headline writer, of course, meant to call Oakland A's pitcher Pat Venditte "ambidextrous," but for whatever reason, replaced the hard-to-spell word that means the pitcher can throw either left or right, with the equally hard to spell "amphibious," meaning suited for land and water.

The media blog Romenesko reached out to the editor of the paper that made the mistake, The East Oregonian.

“It’s just kind of a silly mistake, and I’m trying to craft a column about it now,” said managing editor Daniel Wattenberger. “There was just some confusion [about amphibious vs. ambidextrous] from the person laying out the page on Friday night.

"It's a little embarrassing," he said.

It's not the first time the paper has gone viral. The paper published a letter to the editor about farts last month.
