Ronald Acuna, the Braves No. 1 prospect, hit his first home run of the season for Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Acuna hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the fifth inning in Gwinnett’s game against Scranton Wilkes-Barre. The home run, to left field, traveled an estimated 395 feet. He also had a first-inning single in a 2-for-4 night with two runs scored and a walk. Gwinnett won, 8-3.

Acuna had a strong spring training with the Braves but was sent to Triple-A to begin the season, in part for contractual reasons and in part to continue his development. Acuna has struggled at Gwinnett to start the year and was hitting just .175 after the two hits.
