Four-star running back Dameon Pierce withdrew his commitment to Alabama.
Pierce, No. 100 on 2018 ESPN 300, announced his decision on Thursday with a statement on Twitter.
“After a recent conversation with my mom and close friends, we think this is the best way to go in terms of my future,” Pierce wrote in part.
The 5-foot-11, 205 pound rising senior from Bainbridge, Ga. has offers from 17 schools including Auburn, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Georgia Tech, according to 247 Sports.
Pierce is ranked No. 17 on 247 Sports’ list of top 2018 recruits in Georgia.
