Auburn coach Gus Malzahn announced Monday backup quarterback Sean White was dismissed from the team.

White was arrested early Sunday morning for public intoxication then held at the Lee County (Ala.) Detention Center and released on $500 bond, according to the Associated Press.

"Sean White is no longer a part of our football program at Auburn," Malzahn said in a statement. "He has made poor decisions that are not in the best interest of our program, and more importantly, himself. We appreciate his time at Auburn and wish him nothing but the best."

White started 16 games over the past two seasons for the Tigers, racking up 2,845 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham has started the past three games for Auburn (2-1) after White, a junior from Boca Raton, Fla., was suspended for the first two games of the season for an undisclosed reason, according to the AP.

White has not played in a game for the Tigers this season after being limited in the spring from a broken forearm suffered in last season’s Sugar Bowl, according to the AP.

Georgia plays Auburn on Nov. 11 at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn.
