- Behind goals from Josef Martinez, Miguel Almiron and Hector Villalba, the Five Stripes defeated D.C. United 3-1 on Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
- Villalba was Doug Roberson's Man of the Match because he also added two assists, but several players performed well in knocking off D.C. United for the first time in their fourth meeting.

- Atlanta United broke its own MLS single-game attendance record with 72,035 tickets sold and distributed. It was the fourth-most attended soccer game in the world last week.
