Atlanta United's Josef Martinez is day-to-day after suffering a broken nose after scoring in Wednesday's 2-0 win at Columbus. The team confirmed the injury, suspected by manager Gerardo Martino, on Friday.

The availability of the striker, who leads MLS with 14 goals, will be determined by how much pain he is experiencing. Atlanta United will host Chicago on Wednesday in the U.S. Open Cup. It returns to league action on June 24 when it hosts Portland. Both games are at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Martinez suffered the broken nose when he bumped heads with Columbus’ Artur after scoring on a header.

It’s the second injury Martinez has suffered this year after breaking his hand in training. He played through that by wearing a brace.

Atlanta United leads MLS in points (33).
